woken up at 6:45 by an alarm clock going off either upstairs or downstairs, not sure which. evidently the induhviduals of whichever apartment left their alarm turned on when they went away for break or whatever. called "twenty-four hour maintenance" and got told that they'd send someone right over.
tried to sleep in the back room, gave up around 7 and took a shower. got out of the shower and the alarm was still going. emily called maintenance again and was told that it wasn't a Serious Problem and that we could call the office at nine when there was someone there.
got in the car, went to work. realised on the way that i'd forgotten breakfast, so i got to stand in line at The Slowest Burger King In Virginia.
got to work, took out my keys to unlock the door, and realised that "hey, my work key is missing! why is my work key missing? oh, that's right, i gave it to neil last night by mistake, instead of my apartment key, so that he'd be able to get in and take care of the cats while we're gone!"

on the bright side, grades for my class are up. got a B+, which is about what i expected. somehow i seem to have gotten a 3.5 (of 4) on my final paper, which is at least half a point higher than i expected. either i really have no conception of my ability to write (doubtful; these things really, _really_ feel slapped together) or zaldivar just really likes my writing style.

"Boromir is, for much of the film, in the rather difficult position of a career soldier fighting a losing war, who's just been informed that the big plan is not to use the superweapon, but instead to have a crack team of leprechauns carry it into Moscow." --Gareth Hanrahan

Gareth has a wonderful review of Fellowship currently up on his blog. I disagree with some small bits, but mostly he's dead on.
In retrospect, I suppose Liv Tyler did alright; I'm just peeved that they decided to expand on the Aragorn/Arwen love story.
