set is struck.
people are unhappy.
i am useless.
i seem to have messed up my hand hauling plywood. or more likely it just exacerbated the problems the mouse has been giving me. maybe i'll go see a doctor next week sometime.
a few weeks ago i saw a guy wearing a t-shirt from the jefferson antigrad party from 1993. it's been years and years and years since i saw one of those shirts. it was very, very cool.
went to the library yesterday. they had all the dune books EXCEPT the second one. i am irritated. very.
funagain sent me two copies of the first half of my order.
tomorrow i go to spend thanksgiving with someone's family other than mine for the first time... well, ever, really. interesting. especially since most of my memories of thanksgiving are of going to the mess hall at fort bragg. they had cool ice sculptures there.

Nicolas Cage has signed on to play the title role in the upcoming _Constantine_ according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is an adaptation of the DC/Vertigo title John Constantine: Hellblazer.
...
[Screenwriter] Cappello has also reported to fans that the lead role will be played as an American, rather than in keeping with the British comic book character.
...
The Hollywood Reporter also says a bit about the story, describing it as a "Dirty Harry set in the occult world". In the picture Constantine will partner with a female cop to fight against the dark supernatural forces.
...
The film is to be directed by Tarsem (The Cell).

bah. i was all excited about this when i saw that nicolas cage was attached. then i read the rest of the news. you can't make john constantine into an american. you just can't. it would be like making sherlock holmes black. (or making sherlock holmes into anyone but basil rathbone, but i digress.)
the script also sounds hideous. and i just wasn't all that impressed by The Cell.
despite my fanboyish devotion i'm likely to give this one a pass.

CONSTANTINE: Just what the world needs-- the charge of the trenchcoat brigade.
PHANTOM STRANGER: I heard that, John Constantine.
--Neil Gaiman, "The Books of Magic"
