Short form: survived moving, furniture is mostly in the correct place, got Matrix tix for E&Z, made it to NoVa.

Woke up bright and early Satyrday morning for move-out. E & I were a bit worried that we'd have a repeat of last year, but it was all good. Big thanks (in alpha order by username) to [livejournal.com profile] bitbug, [livejournal.com profile] jedibfa, [livejournal.com profile] mrstickman, [livejournal.com profile] ndkid, [livejournal.com profile] rubinpdf, [livejournal.com profile] yubbie, and [livejournal.com profile] zerblinitzky. Plus of course [livejournal.com profile] uilos, for getting the truck and pizza and everything wrangled properly. (Chicken alfredo pizza was damn good, yo.) All the furniture fit into the 15-foot truck easily, and we probably could have fit twice as many boxes if we'd needed to. Having so many people meant getting things down the stairs went quickly, too; yay bucket-brigade tactics.

Rather tired after the move, so we went back to Lisa&Neil's to feed Atticus, pay attention to our cats, and watch The Matrix. I hadn't seen it since it was in theatres, I think; same for E. It is, in fact, quite well-written. I was pleasantly surprised to have it live up to my memory. (Next time you watch it, try believing that Morpheus is The One. Puts an interesting spin on everything. I suspect that by the end of the trilogy we will learn that everyone has the potential to be The One.)

Then we pushed some furniture around and built the new TV stand (frustration), then crashed. Patrick's townhouse faces west. This means that the walkout patio door in the basement faces east. This means that the basement gets lots of early morning sun. Sunrise like a nosebleed, your head hurts and you can't breathe.

Sunday we did various misc unpacking-type things. Monday I got up and thought "You know, I bet they don't start selling tickets at the Roanoke theatre at ten o'clock. That means that I may or not be able to buy tickets when I get there at around 10:45. I may be late getting to NoVa." Drove out to Roanoke anyway, and determined that in fact they are not selling tickets by 10:45. Fortunately they were selling them by 11:15, so I bought tickets for some sci-fi movie (The Matrix Multiplication or something) for 5:45 Thursday for me, E, and Z.

Rolled into Arlington at almost exactly three. Hung out with K for awhile. Went to Potomac Overlook, Thai food, and a cemetary, then came back and watched three episodes of The Muppet Show (Mark Hamill, Paul Simon, Raquel Welch). Man. I'd forgotten how incredibly good the Muppets can be. "You old fool! You slept through the whole show!" "Who's a fool? You watched it!" Asparagus eggs. Fozzie being hit on by Raquel Welch. Luke Skywalker taking over the Swine Trek. So cool.

Then here, then LJ catchup (almost a hundred entries in three days; it may be time to prune my friendslist again) and email (88 messages, 41 spam). Now, sleep. Well, soon sleep.

Yeah. That sounds about right.
