Apr. 11th, 2003 12:37 amHm. My eyes are getting tired, but the rest of me is still awake.
Second cup of tea this evening. I knew cutting back on the caffeine would do me some good eventually. One more cup will probably get me to three o'clock fully functional, and if this bloody paper isn't done by then there's no hope for it.
There's a Dilbert cartoon where a nameless guy is talking about how he finished writing something or other by staying awake for five days straight. "On the fourth day I was visited by an Incan monkey god, who dictated the paper to me.... Now I just need to find someone to translate his simple but elegant language."
My Computer Hates Your Mama: "This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I had another disc explode a few years ago."
A cool post from
prog about dredging up mem'ries. He also gives us a creepy article on NYC token-suckers, a variety of criminal that really has to be seen to be believed. (I'm not sure I believe it.)
I suspect that after 20C Lit tomorrow morning I will go to the third floor lounge of Squires and crash for two hours until it's time for Shakespeare. Unless of course I doze through Shakespeare as well. I've never been able to sleep more than half an hour in Squires, though, so maybe not. (I find it unlikely that I will simply fall asleep in 20C Lit, since I bring tea with me to class.)
La. Wednesday I was helped, Thursday I was helpful. It all balances out. Or something.
For those who can't produce their own boring journal entries, Lore has been kind enough to build a tool that writes them for you.
The problem with writing papers the way I do is that really there's no way to measure how far you are from done. I've got whole sections completely written, detailed notes for most of the rest, and one or two bits that are still vague notes. But I'm pretty sure I'm mostly done at this point.
