Ari [Fleischer] Gets Laughed Out of the White House Briefing Room: "The whole press corps, normally sheep, broke out in laughter... sweet, derisive laughter. They kept on laughing as Ari turned on his heels and strode out."

At Lorton, the Arts Transform a Prison: "Fairfax is now in the final stages of approving a bold arts program at the Lorton site. It's called the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center." (at washingtonpost.com; may require irritating registration survey or free registration)

advice from a she-geek on dating and relationships: "As one of my male geek friends put it, 'When we don't know what to do...the first thing we do is look it up online!'"

Changeling continues to go better than expected and away from the expected plot. (Neither of which are bad things. I now have wacky character-driven (and somewhat character-driving) plot, and I get to introduce complications in the form of a young Sidhe knight). Rocked the Shakespeare midterm (sample question: 'Name a character who is alive at the end of Hamlet.'), rocked the chemlab exam, got an A on my review of Branagh's Much Ado. Caught up on the reading for classes, at least until we start Miss Lonelyhearts a week from Monday. Feeling good about everything except the inexplicable late fee that Tech has slapped me with; need to call and kvetch at them tomorrow. Most likely visiting my parents for a couple days this weekend. Yay fun.
On the bright side, on Tuesday i got a package from [livejournal.com profile] jude, who is clearly the highly responsible and slightly embarrassed person I always thought she was. :)
