My new trackball is just as susceptible to trackgunk as my old one, and it's harder to pop the ball out. (Not all that much harder-- I have to actually lift the device off the desk to do it, though. The pain, the horror.)

Started reading Milorad Pavic's Dictionary of the Khazars earlier this week. Discovered that I can't read it at work-- it demands a level of concentration that's hard to maintain when you have to keep one eye out for people wandering by. If I'd read it before I'd probably be alright. Anyhow, it's a very odd book. It's sort of an encyclopedia of all things relating to the 'Khazar Polemic', a religious dialogue that occurred when the leader of the Khazars (a mid-European tribe) had a dream, and told the three major religions in the area (Islam, Judaism, Xianity) that he'd convert to whichever one could interpret his dream best. Only the dictionary is in three volumes, one with sources from each religion, and each claims that the Khazars converted to their religion. Plus information on the previous edition of the dictionary, which is very strange in its own right. I'm enjoying it. I think.

Work is Not Bad, at least in the mornings. I got to read all of Brust and Lindholm's The Gypsy today.
