yeah. so. weekend happened, as they tend to. on satyrday kayla and adam (and later neil) came over and we played various games, including Barbarossa, which involves making clay statues and trying to guess what other people's statues are. a cool game, even if i'm not terribly good at it.
then adam & i went out and hung out at his dive for a few hours. had a double gin&tonic (it was okay, not great but not hideous) and a rum&coke (better, but that may have been the gin&tonic). getting drunk is... interesting. i can understand why it might be a desirable state, but it's a bit pricey for me. (especially now...)
sunday was very blah. grey and drippy all day. although there was awhile where it was mostly clear out the back window, and then in the space of 10-15 minutes the fog was so thick you could hardly see the tree 40 feet away. very cool. worked on my drama paper, which is structurally complete. so now i have to go and write the words for the thing. saw _gosford park_ again that evening, and attempted in vain to keep track of all the characters. still a fun movie, though.
and yeah. back to work. bah. i'll be happier when this charade is over.

Know what's a lot more disturbing than fog like that? When you're driving, and the fog's so thick you can't see both sides of the road at the same time. :)

Coolest fog experience..

It was -really- foggy in Ithaca a couple years ago--couldn't see the entire valley below campus. So my friend Nick's thought train must have gone like this: "It's really foggy.. I bet the old cemetery looks really cool right now.. let's go play frisbee in the cemetery!" *grin*
So he fetched a few other guys, including me (with my light-up frisbee, without which we would've lost several frisbees), picked up a pack of Corona and a pack of cloves, and spent 12-3am in the cemetery, amassing large quantities of excellent quotes, which I've mostly forgotten. :)

On drinking

I believe it was The Munchkin's Guide to Power Gaming that compared drinking and having sex to playing RPGs: you have to actually do it to understand why anyone would want or need to.
