so i'm working on a play again, for the first time in six years. it's... interesting. it's almost nothing like working with troupe. in troupe, the focus was on the actors; lighting was whatever was set up at the time, and sets were given minimal attention. for this show there are three count 'em three actors, and an overly complex set. it's very little like working with jefferson drama, because, well, the parts of the show other than the actors & director are a huge mess being done by about five people. (as opposed to a huge mess being done by about 30 people.) (i'm not really sure which is preferable, but more workers would have gotten the set up faster.) the actors are cooler than jefferson drama actors-- they actually helped with set construction. i was both shocked and amazed... working with the dramabitches left a fairly foul taste in my mouth regarding actors.

anyway. i'm not sure whether it's nice to be back in a theatre group or not. i'm not yet sure whether i feel like i belong there. i'm also rather nervous, because they made me prop-boy... the most responsibility i've had backstage before this was making sure the water pump for the rain under the stage stayed in the bucket. and being both prop-boy AND followspot may be tricky. at least there's no followspot during act 2.
