jazzfish: a black-haired man with a big sword. blood stains the snow behind (Eddard Stark)

This morning I had tea and listened to the best Xmas album (John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together) and ate freezer-waffles (huzzah to past Tucker for making them) and opened packages from my parents and from my aunt Susan. And I read The Tailor of Gloucester, which I started doing ... I don't know, sometime in the last fifteen years, maybe the last ten. And also listened to a few xmas songs my friend Shauna recorded, o, ages ago, that I'd nearly forgotten about.

There's a lot of snow on the ground but it's nice dry powdery stuff, I didn't have to scrape my car. On the other hand -25 is just about enough cold, thanks. At least my car started.

I spent the day with Erin, mostly making various things and petting various cats, and that was alright too.

Next year a small tree, I think: my ornaments have been in a box for five years and that seems like long enough. A tree, and presents for people, and maybe an orphans' xmas but definitely boardgaming in the afternoon for anyone around.

I stand by my opinion that traveling at Xmastime is stupid, but I do miss Xmas.
