jazzfishemily has a juicer, so we played with it a couple nights ago. made canteloupe juice and apple-blackberry juice. the apple-blackberry was quite good once it got done straining through the cheesecloth. the canteloupe i didn't really like, but i don't really like canteloupe either. it tasted very like canteloupe, but it tasted thick, too. it wasn't-- it just tasted like it was.
canteloupe is a hard word to type. the vowels are weird.
it is too bloody warm. i hate this town. warm and humid and the rain doesn't even have the decency to cool things off, although the pool will doubtless be still too cold to go swimming in. on the bright side, my ceiling fan isn't making noise.
the big meeting today consisted of "the economy sucks. we lost money this month. so instead of laying anyone off, all you salaried people can work an extra five hours a week for awhile." irritating. i was just getting into the habit of coming home, crashing for half an hour or so, and going to exercise. better than having no job, though. still... time to dig out the resume again, i suppose. i was hoping to keep this job longer than three months, too.
i think i shall have another round of "install _omikron_ and hope it doesn't crash." it's supposed to work under win2k...
