Friday night we went into Roanoke to see _Planet of the Apes_. It was pretty good-- the plot was weak in places, but good actors can save even a rotten script, and the monkeys were pretty uniformly good actors. Charlton Heston has a cameo as an old monkey going on about the superiority of human guns. I was surprised to see David Warner in there as well. I'm glad I saw it. Plus we got good trailers-- From Hell looks quite kickass, as does the new scifi Jet Li movie.

Before we saw the movie we went in PetSmart and waved to the birds and kittens. I shouldn't go in pet stores. There was one that looked like Chaos, except that around his eyes was all red, like it was inflamed... and none of them looked really well. (They were all found cats, which probably had a lot to do with it, except for the one that was 8 years old and donated because the owner had just recently died...)

Other than that it's been a nothing weekend. Kind of pleasant.

Yeah. That sounds about right.
