Bad: All changes to the documentation have to be made in two places: the online help and the printed manual.

Ugly: WinAmp's playlist editor. Use Sonique, for Pete's sake.

Ugly: I quite disagree, I think it's very simple and straightforward, while Sonique (playlist editor aside, since I've never used it) is a terrible memory/processor hog (unless it's been improved significantly since I last used it) to the point that I couldn't use it on my old P/166MMX/64MB RAM.

Hrm. On some flavor of 700mhz, it's using 4-5% CPU (ridiculous, granted), and 9 meg memory (not so bad). Of course, I just finished working for a company where I used Taskman constantly to see how badly my system was being hosed, and the answer was generally "pretty badly" (invise.exe had the bad habit of taking up 99% system resources and hemorrhaging memory until it ate my entire swap file, while continuing to "function"), so my perspective is a bit skewed.

Besides, this way other people won't use my machine when I'm not here, because none of them understand Sonique. :)

Winamp, on my Athlon 800 w/256MB RAM.. 8.9MB, 2%.

Sonique is the one that has modular skins, right? Can basically make the player look like anyhing?

'kay, so we're looking at a 2-3x increase in CPU, and a neglibigle memory increase. although they're talking about a new version of Sonique Real Soon Now.

actually, for no apparent reason my cpu usage fluctuates between 2% and 5%.

from the Sonique FAQ:
Does Sonique use a lot of CPU?
A: No. Sonique uses the same or even less than most other MP3 players.

because I hate WinAmp's playlist editor. also because I can make Sonique into a bar at the top of my screen, can use the scroll thingy on my mouse/trackball to turn the volume up or down, and Sonique looks cooler.

If I use the ass-kicking visualization plugin I downloaded, CPU goes up to 50-75%. Ridiculous. There goes _that_ plugin.

What is it that you don't like about the WinAmp playlist editor? It does everything i want it to do..
