We rolled into Columbus around midafternoon on Wednesday. After the expected badge screw-ups, we helped the Looneys put the booth together, and then had dinner and hung around doing nothing for awhile. Wednesday was kind of a nothing day.
Thursday we got the booth and the Lab (the gaming area) all ready to go. I ran my first of five Fluxx qualifier rounds, which went well considering it had been a year since I'd done anything like this. Spent too much money in the dealers' room, especially considering it's only THURSDAY and I'm there for three more days.
Thursday night Nathan and I tried to play in one of Sandy Antunes's LARPs, but failed because we were the only ones to show up. So we sat around and talked to Sandy for an hour or so, which was pretty cool.
Came back to the Lab afterwards and hung around for a bit… I probably played some Zendo and maybe some other Icehouse games as well. Around eleven or so Emily decided that we were all going to play Werewolf, so we did. Note that this isn't the White Wolf/WoD roleplaying game, but rather a game of suspicion, mob rule, and lynching people. I highly recommend it if you can get together nine or so people. So we played three games of Werewolf. The first game was total chaos, with complete mob rule… the werewolves won handily. The second game was much better. I was a werewolf, and managed to win through a combination of never voting to lynch any of the villagers and getting two of the more vocal players to believe I was a villager. (Having Emily insist that I couldn't possibly be a werewolf because I hadn't killed her yet didn't hurt either. :) So that was fun. The third game I "got" to be moderator, so it wasn't as fun. By the time that was over it was 2:30 in the morning, so we went home and crashed until tomorrow.
