so i'm back online, again, after a week of not being so. should be for good, this time. *cross fingers*
the week at work was kind of pointless. i learned some very basic perl, so i can theoretically write code now. other than that i sat around a lot. but they paid me for it. :)
went to mo and tony's wedding over the weekend. well, went and wasted my money on _tomb raider_ first. then drove to my parents' place on friday night, and got up satyrday morning and drove to state college, PA. i figured that by leaving at around 10:30 i'd have plenty of time to get to the wedding.
i pulled onto state road 322, figuring there'd be another maybe 20 minutes to drive. i pass a sign that says "state college 80 miles." the clock on the car says 1:10. i do some math in my head, allowing some time for driving after i get to state college. i figure, if i can go 80 the whole way there, i'll be good.
so of course they're doing large quantities of construction. i actually got to the wedding at 2:40, and changed into my suit by 2:45. it didn't actually start 'til three, though, so life was good.
notes on random people i saw at the wedding:
--jeff firestone is doing well, still has short hair, and is living in chicago and playing with gypsy moths.
--skreidle hasn't changed much since i saw him in december. (what were you expecting?)
--tony and mo are still tony and mo; very cute, and wonderful people. tony is still a bit loud for my tastes, but he had everything well under control.
--catherine the imp will be going to tech in the fall. i should probably look her up. moira will also be back down here doing gradschool.
--both of mo's parents failed to recognise me, but remembered me once i told them who i was. i think i'm impressed, since it's been six years since i've seen them, and probably at least five since my name was mentioned in their presence.
--i continue my unbroken track record of exchanging pleasantries and not much more with shaye. (more later.)
--oddly enough, and not something i would ever in my life have expected, i spent a lot of time talking to kim telsch. (shock and amazement) much like me, she seems a lot happier and more together these days. and she has straight hair.
the drive back was interesting. i think it took less time than the drive there, but i can't really tell because i stopped for dinner with kim and took at least half an hour for that. (scott? any idea when we left?)
and so then i got up sunday morning, after driving more in one day than ever before (never had to make the trip to and from b-burg in one day, and that's about the furthest i've driven) in an unfamiliar car, and went to church for father's day. woo hoo. then i came back here, watched _the boxer_ again, and crashed. and got up earlier, went to work, and came home. fun fun.
