LAX, the one true airport hell, of which all others, including our own Dulles, are but shadows. . .
(Honestly, the real problem lay with using Air Canada for the first leg.)

Date: 2009-03-17 04:13 pm (UTC)At 3:30 I tried to check in at United and got told to go check in at Air Canada instead. It all went downhill from there. I still don't have my razor.
(Full story to follow, eventually.)

Date: 2009-03-17 05:01 pm (UTC)Westjet's customer service seems to be better than Air Canada, but they don't really fly to the US so that's no help for you.

Date: 2009-03-17 04:15 pm (UTC)I will now /actively/ avoid changing planes in LAX. As in, I will spend extra time and money to avoid it. O'Hell is more of a "if I can avoid it I will, if I have to go through there, eh."

Date: 2009-03-17 04:16 pm (UTC)And I'm home. Well, I'm at work, but close enough.
(That's not the stupid part. The stupid part is, I'll be at work after a red-eye again on Monday!)

Date: 2009-03-17 04:43 pm (UTC)It's seriously bloody irritating if you're changing planes and have to go through security /again/. Doubly so when you have to sprint across busy roads to get to the right terminal. That's assuming you can find the right terminal in the first place, because unlike all other airports in the known world (including Dulles and O'Hell), LAX has a distinct lack of airport maps, and those that it has still claim you can get from terminal to terminal through magic sky bridges.
Seriously. I may hate Dulles for its godawful slow people-movers, but LAX doesn't even have those.
