LAX, the one true airport hell, of which all others, including our own Dulles, are but shadows. . .

(Honestly, the real problem lay with using Air Canada for the first leg.)

Ah. Yes, Air Canada sucks with both online check-in and codesharing. We've booked through United on a AC plane before, and it's a pain in the neck, but sometimes cheaper.

Westjet's customer service seems to be better than Air Canada, but they don't really fly to the US so that's no help for you.

Ugh. LAX is terrible. I hope you made it through and are home by now. More importantly, I hope you had a great time in Vancouver!

What?? I love LAX--they have separate security lines for each terminal, whereas Dulles has ONE FRAKKIN SECURITY LINE for all travelers.

Eww. That reminds me of the last time I had to do a transfer at Heathrow. There was a lot of construction going on and very few signs telling us that a) I had to take a tram to get to the next terminal and b) which bloody tram to take. Then when I finally got to the right terminal I had to go through security *and* customs!
