I liked Black Wine in some ways very much, but found the next one of hers I read (alien in Canada, depressed protagonist) to be somewhat Lieutenant Mary Sue-ish, and yet, pretty readable. Anything else of hers you think I should check out?

Far as I know that's all of her stuff there /is/. I didn't even know about the second book until I saw it on the shelf at, um, the tiny overcrowded usedbookstore in Falls Church.
