I'm sure you all know the drill by now, but just in case:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, ask them 5 questions.

From [livejournal.com profile] troyfish:
1) Long distance relationships can suck a lot... how do you handle it?

Well, the flip answer would be "Poorly." Mostly, with daily email (even if it's just "hey"), chat in the evenings, and the occasional phone call. Plus visits every 3-4 months. Absent those I've not really developed a coping strategy, beyond the old standby of withdraw/seal-off/breakdown.

2) What are you doing for work these days?

Tech writing for a medium-sized software company. Today that involves explaining to an Indian subcontractor how to do the gruntwork of testing each procedure in an on-line help module, making sure the interface I wrote about last month hasn't been changed since then, correcting screenshots of a completely different interface, sitting on the phone with Adobe tech support, and maybe doing some actual writing later this afternoon.

3) Why Jazzfish? After all, how many fishes are in this pond?

In summer 1996, [livejournal.com profile] scathach introduced me to Jazz Fish Zen, a hypercolor fable about a piscean saxophonist. That same summer I needed a non-VT email account. "tucker@juno.com" was taken, so I went with "jazzfish@juno.com" (now defunct) and never looked back.

I dunno about your second question, but according to Elise (or perhaps Mike) there's plenty of fish in the sky. (As of this writing, still available from Elise's June Shiny clearance sale.)

4) What do you miss most about the college days... the least?

"College days" for me encompasses three separate periods:

1) 1995-1997, my first try at full-time college. Most, the sense that the whole world had opened up, both from being out on my own and the advent of permanent net connectivity. Least, the long-distance relationships.
2) 1997-1999, during which time I was taking the Dean's vacation but everyone else was in college. Most, the close-knit friendships centered around Apartment 6. Least, Carlos the asshole ass't manager at A&W.
3) 2003-2005, full-time as an English/theatre major. Most . . . Spiel. Least, the costume part of Design Lab.

5)What 6 people (from any point in history when they were living...including currently) should play a game of "Dumb-Ass Russian Roulette?" (This game uses a fully loaded clip)

Jeez, I don't know. I can't even handle my own life, you expect me to meddle in someone else's? I'm tempted to bust out Gandalf's "many who live deserve death" speech.

Saul of Tarsus, Constantine "the Great," Adolf Schicklgruber, Ingram Frizer, Mao Zedong, Idi Amin Dada.

Sure. Interview me. And dare I ask for the underlying logic for Saul of Tarsus?
