It's not so much that Pete Townshend has a blog, it's what he put in the "About Me" section of it.

I won a copy of [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's new short-story collection in a contest sponsored by AbeBooks. It should be on its way this weekend. And I read Megan Whalen Turner's The King of Attolia yesterday and I can only say "This is awesome" so many times before it loses all meaning, and I have finally started reading those books about the wizard kid that people gush so much about.

Other than that I'm . . . not exactly depressed, just numb. Tell me about something awesome that's happened to you lately.

Hi. I just followed you home. *g*

Pete Townshend does not have to prove that his is bigger.

He's the man.

(The David Bowie icon for this post because this particular picture of DB is cropped out of a shot with Pete Townshend and Mick Jagger.)

I was actually able to find a copy of HP6 at the bookstore so I could reread it in time for #7. (Don't laugh, they were hiding them all yesterday.)

(This was easier than locating my copy.)

I gotta tell you how grateful I am that [livejournal.com profile] jazzfish won a copy New Amsterdam. I just finished Whiskey and Water and I need more Bear goodness and stealing the book from him keeps me out of the bookstore.

mmmm... something awesome... so demanding.

I will skip the obvious with Origins, which leaves me with my transfer at work and the fact that I keep impressing the heck out of the district and regional guys. woo.

I know, boring, but considering that work owns me, still impressive. *grin*

*hug*

is it bad that i first thought

Yeah, it's pretty cool. I spent last night reading about a cool parsing technique.

Speaking of reading and awesome, I finally read Snow Crash (don't know if you've read it but lots of people we know have). It was a lot of fun, read a lot like a movie screenplay, which makes me wonder if we'll see it on the big screen someday.

Stupid ticks

I've felt from time to time that I should read Cryptonomicon -- after all, I think the WWII cryptography efforts, the human drama with Turing, etc. are all pretty interesting. Book not up to the actual history?

I have a date tomorrow. That's awesome.

My car in CA was stolen and recovered. Honestly, it would have been simpler if it hadn't been recovered and I could have claimed whatever theft insurance I have instead of dealing with having to sell it.

It depends how you define 'kids' really.
3 *human* kids and an assortment of other species.
The series is up to 8 and still running.
