The Evening of Writing plan worked out pretty well; got in a good hour and a half of productive tap-tap-tapping. Some of it may even be worth showing the rest of the world at some point. I sort of envy Will Shetterly his willingness to put up first drafts on the net. I couldn't do that, not yet. I'm cooking at home (sauteeing peppers to go with pasta may be my new favorite thing to do) and taking a break from the computer when I get in. Still no progress on the sociability front (though there's not really been much chance for that). I'm putting off making a doctor's appointment 'til bonuses come through at the end of next month, so that if I'm discovered to be horribly broken I won't also become horribly indebted.

The real question is "can I keep this up?" We'll see. I think so, though.

Nice! Thats close to where I work..Langley HS. Andrew works in Falls Chruch now, on Route 50 right off the Beltway.

This is the second time today I have wanted to make an obscure reference to Dirk Gently. People at work wouldn't have gotten it, though. And if I had explained it it would have given away the ending of the book

I think Dirk Gently is the only reason I know the Porlock story. Although I have a vague recollection of it being mentioned in a Piers Anthony book as well.
