The point of visiting thrift stores on Satyrday was to acquire Xmas presents for various difficult-to-buy-for relatives. NOT to stock up on stuff for myself, like tea tins, or books. On the other hand, I did finally get hardbacks of Jeff Noon's _Vurt_ ("Some days, it feels like the whole world is smeared with Vaz") and the second volume of Tad Williams's _Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn_, so I'd have to call that a win. And three CDs that may or not be pretty good, and the aforementioned tins for loose tea, and even one or two xmas presents. Not a total waste of time, by any measure. And there was tasty sushi, and good tea was made, and even a visit to Wunderland at which I remade Lori Gina's Sister's acquaintance after eight-plus years.

After this weekend I feel like I've finally recovered from travel. I think it's got to do with having taken today as mostly a stay-at-home day (a foray to Target for new towels and a whisk aside). It's nice to not have to worry about what I need to be getting done, just sit around and relax for hours.

At this time I would like to state for the record that [livejournal.com profile] jonny_law is not merely made of Awesome, in the sense that books are made of paper or pancakes are made of Bisquick; he is Awesome, distilled down to its purest essence. Which is to say, thank you, and much amusement shall certainly follow.

At this point, it seems that my housewarming and also games (okay, mostly games) shall be on the 18th of November, starting oh let's say around three o'clock. Dinner will consist of baked ziti and some variety of bread, unless there are sufficient objections from the (lactose or gluten == poison) contingent. I'll have a small selection of drinks and snacks but bringing more would certainly put you in my good graces. I might even let you pick the next game, or something.
