bits and bobs
Jul. 7th, 2005 11:33 pmErnie and Bert are Dead is not quite [as
jude says] the best thing I have ever seen in my whole life, but it's certainly up there.
On
nixve's recommendation I've read through the archives of PartiallyClips, and it rocks. Gems like Worried Couple and Saloon, not to mention Butterfly. Much amusement.
Anyone who hasn't read Neil Gaiman's brilliant and creepy story We Can Get Them For You Wholesale can do so until the end of the month for free.
Dylan Thomas has said all there is to say on today's events in London.
I'm taking a class on Blake (early and middle Blake only, as late Blake appears to be about as comprehensible as Finnegans Wake), supposedly doing an independent study on some British Modernists if I can ever get hold of my professor, working 20 hrs a week at VirPack and ten at Walden's, and thinking hard about where I'll be in two months. Ack.
And the entire world goes crazy in nine days. We got in twenty-four white boxes today, with orders to not open them 'til 11:50 PM on the fifteenth. This is an improvement over two years ago, when literally every free inch of shelf space was filled with Ugly Blue Books. (Also, the later release date means I didn't have to see them carried around all over the place at Origins this year, and thus avoided mild traumatic flashbacks. Score.)
Right. Origins. Later, after I've plowed through some more of To the Lighthouse.
