jazzfish: a whole bunch of the aliens from Toy Story (Aliens)

Second verse, same as the first . . . a little trickier this time, maybe it'll take more than twelve hours.

1. I just ambushed you with a cup of coffee. --Ronin, [livejournal.com profile] platypusgirl

2. I love you more than Jesus. --The Prophecy, [livejournal.com profile] nixve

3. Rule four: no cheating! --The Sword in the Stone, [livejournal.com profile] vond

4. "I can't believe you actually shot me." "Well, what would you have done if it was me?" "Oh, I'd have shot you." (revised to add the last two sentences) --The Puppet Masters, unguessed

5. No more drugs for that man. --Face/Off, [livejournal.com profile] wyrdone

6. You're pretty funny for a guy with nine fingers. --Suicide Kings, [livejournal.com profile] wyrdone

7. You have reached the winter of our discontent. --Reality Bites, [livejournal.com profile] vilejynx

8. I use a lot of colors, not just black. --Basquiat, [livejournal.com profile] scathach

9. Hang on tightly, let go lightly. --Croupier, [livejournal.com profile] desfido

10. Did we just hit a goat? --Big Trouble, [livejournal.com profile] rbandrews

and the gimme . . .

11. Excrement. That is what I think of J. Evans Pritchard, Ph.D. --Dead Poets Society, [livejournal.com profile] rbandrews

4: Speed.

Though I haven't seen it, I'm tempted to say Lord of the Rings for 6.

Now I really feel like I should recognize it, especially since you lengthened it.
It sounds a lot like a Stargate: SG-1 quote, but it can't be, since you don't watch SG-1.
Galaxy Quest maybe?

Okay, I cheated, but it's not bugging me any more.
Yeah, I'd be surprised if anyone else gets that. I should watch that again; it was a good movie.

And... 4 is from Pirates of the Caribbean? The scene where the ghost captain is testing whether the curse has been lifted?

I should know 5, really.

3: Disney's Sword in the Stone?

Well, you're right; this is certainly a harder set.

I think #4 might also be in Clue.

But I suspect that's been in a lot of things.

Well, since I'd be ashamed not to get it: #8 is Basquiat. Got it on DVD for my birthday, and watched it last week, so it's fresh. GOD DAMN, what a good movie.

PS - www.guthrietheater.org has info on internships - they suggest applying 6 months or so before you actually want to do it, so you might look at the site. I'll still ask around for you, tho.

yep, although there's nothing really in extras - damn those fine films that came out before the era of DVD really took off. Still painfully beautiful after all these years - from the first viewing, in which I almost took off your head because we were late already and you insisted on stopping for Reeses Pieces, to the last one, a little over a week ago. Michael Wincott and Gary Oldman rock my world. Hard. And Parker Posey continues to play Parker Posey and no one else. But that's ok.

Well, several of the ones I know have been taken. That's what I get for taking over 12 hours to see the entry. But...
9. Croupier. Love it.

That's about all I've heard about it too.
Well, that and that it's really good.
Unfortunately, haven't seen it.
Really, really want to, though.

Odd moment... I'm yahoo'ing myself to see what might pop up... and I see the quote "ten years since I saw that at Eric Scarazzo's place." Freaky-fun.

And what a mess that night was... too much teenage drama... I don't think I could handle it today!! ;)
