I think that while it may be as good, the concepts aren't bright and shiny and new as in the first one, making it a little less interesting. I enjoyed all three of them, but the big main plot point still isn't getting much dealt with (grumble, grumble, stop playing with your ideas Fforde and advance the plot already). On the other hand, the Pickwick the do-do continues to be a laugh riot.
