Worked Friday night, then went on over to Con. Got registered, hung out in the Spiel room battling the Sick. Played Kill Dr Lucky and Bluff. Then played two rounds of Werewolf; lost one (though the village won), lost the second due to a combination of poor werewolfing on my part and moderator screwups. Plus, you know, sick. Also shivering, and after midnight. So went home and slept.
Failed to show up in time for the Nanofic tournament; got there at eleven. Hung around the Spiel room for awhile. Hit the dealers' room. Over the course of the weekend acquired a game called You Need Drew's Truck (in which the object is to move your stuff from one place to another, using the same truck that everyone else is trying to use), Blood & Silk (oriental dark ages sourcebook for WoD), The Book of LARP (a book on, well, larping; could be useful), and a couple paperbacks (Orson Scott Card's Treason and China Mieville's The Scar). Played in the Settlers 'tournament' and won a singing sheep. Uh, go me. Wandered. Decided to run a Changeling game after all, despite being coughy and woozy.
Changeling game was okay. Players were (clockwise) Susan Bert's girlfriend as a boggan counselor; E as a sluagh kid; Kyle as a boggan gardener (with a garden gnome hat); Courtney as a sidhe forest ranger; Toh as a sidhe law school dropout; Will Lancaster as an eshu reporter; Geoff as a pooka courier; K as a troll policewoman. The more perceptive among you may note that this is eight freakin' players, which is more than I really ever want to run with again. I hereby impose an absolute upper limit of no more than six in my games. Other than that it went alright; the Big Moral Decision at the end got kind of steamrolled over, but oh well. I think the players had fun, and that's ultimately all that matters.
After Changeling sat around for a bit and then decided there was no way I was going to last 'til Werewolf, so I went home and crashed. Came back on Sunday expecting to sell stuff in White Elephant. Failed due to everyone and their kid brother having the same idea; the auction closed at three with about a hundred lots left to go. Unloaded some of the stuff on N, so it wasn't a total wash, but still. Irritating. Took the stuff back to the townhouse, and decided that E & I would bring it to Spiel on Wed and let people pick through it and offer us cash there. Then had an Applebee's burger, and then came home and read for a while and then collapsed. And since I've been going since 8:30 this morning with only a vague wooziness and sinus stuffiness, I think I'm
actually done with the Sick now.
Con was fun. Let's do it again sometime.
