DST has hit me much worse than usual this year. That combined with not one but two pi parties over the weekend (and what I thought was a third, but I'd gotten the date wrong so it turned into an accidental hanging-out and awaiting-furniture), and standard substandard software release anxiety at work, has me pretty well exhausted.
I really wanted the second Flash Girls album to be better than it was. The Yeti song and "Me and Dorothy Parker" and "November Song" and "Mike's Magic" are all fantastic in my head and somehow just a bit of a letdown when I actually hear them. (Except for "Mike's Magic" because any fiddle tune that degenerates into a kazoo performance of "Scotland the Brave" for no apparent reason is in fact as awesome as you think it is.) I suppose I mostly mean "I wanted it to be as good as the third one," which was amazing.
Speaking of which, Scotland the Brave.com. "Land of the purple heather, land of some shocking weather, land of Elvis Presley's mother, Scotland the brave!"
Teasing thresholds: some thoughts: "I can't help but register teasing as mocking, and I can't bear mocking." I want to have something to say about this but it keeps on escaping my brain.
It goes without saying that my Viable Paradise application will clearly not be in the mail this week. Maybe next week will go better.
