Um. I did some stuff. Rosemary Kirstein's account of her vacation sounds eerily familiar, except for the part about how "many of these words were excellent," and also "overtime pay."

Other than that... I saw Girlyman a couple of weekends ago, which was typically awesome. (And, as it happens, I'm intensely and selfishly glad I did, given the rotten news.) I went to T'giving at my sister's place and that was okay. [personal profile] uilos and I made pecan pies to take to our respective T'givings; they seem to have gone over well. I spent much of the break writing, and also playing old DOS games. I remapped the worthless Eject key to be Delete ("forward delete" if you insist), thus resolving one of my bigger Mac gripes.

On Sunday we went into DC and met up with [personal profile] tam_nonlinear for Tribal Cafe. She'd brought along [livejournal.com profile] matociquala, which was a nice treat, and we spent the evening admiring the dancing and dancers and geeking out over David Bowie and such. Also on Sunday I somehow managed to write 500 words on the Orange line between West Falls Church and Metro Center. Yay for laptops.

Yesterday as an 'almost there' inducement/reward I bought The Orange Box, including Portal. Now I too will finally understand why the cake is a lie.

And I owe like a zillion people email (okay, maybe six, but still) and ought to get real work done, so I shall go and do some of these things.
