food, film, and fairer weather
Jul. 10th, 2010 10:58 amYou know what happens when you don't eat much for a week, on account of being too warm and too stressed to want anything to do with food, and then you stuff yourself on Da Marco's amazingly delicious linguini alla granchia (with cream sauce) and follow that up a couple hours later with a three-scoop sampler from Moorenko's? Oog. I may be ready to eat again by the time lunch rolls around.
In between the Italian and the ice cream we saw "Breathless" (trailer), which Scott described as "very good, very French." To that I'd add "very Mod" and "very stylized." It felt like it was using a film and literary vocabulary that I'm unfamiliar with. It's all about the inner struggles of the characters, but we only see those struggles in flashes. Mostly it's people who look like they're either drifting through life, or behaving extremely erratically. Very odd.
I didn't go out and wander in the rain last night, which I sort of regret. It's so very nice to no longer be roasting.
