"Nice coat."
Apr. 5th, 2005 01:42 pmSin City: most excellent. Josh Hartnett is insufficiently gritty to be the first character you see; other than that, no real complaints. Wins the prize for "movie that feels most like a comic book." Clive Owen continues to rock my world.
sir_alf needs to see this, like yesterday. Probably twice.
Technicon 22: Windy, with a freak snowfall on Satyrday night. The VileLARP ate my weekend but I can't really complain: I got to be a mad scientist priest type guy, and wound up meeting my two stated goals ["restore magic without letting anyone know how you screwed it up"] and becoming head of the priest types. Squeezed in a couple of games, made some money at White Elephant, and said quick-hellos to a bunch of people. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to talk more to more people: I was dead tired on Friday by the time I got to con, and then the weekend-devouring occurred. (And a big hand to
vileone and
vilejynx and Beth who may or may not be
ladyinthetower for a wholly rockin LARP experience.)
Yesterday and today: paying for playing hooky all weekend by whipping up yet another design lab stage model. This one has to be far more detailed than the last, since it's the 'presentation model.' The horrible awful screens are done and they even more or less open and close correctly (though a blocker in the middle of the track wouldn't be a bad idea) and the floor has been attached and only wants another coat of paint. Unless I repaint the stairs instead. Other than that, I've got the curtains (not quite trivial but less than an hour of work), the crate (trivial; half hour, tops), and the pedestal (argh), and then putting it all together nicely and coming up with justifications for it all. I've also got to go to work this evening. Estimated bedtime: 2:30 AM.
