a Nielsen Hayden morning / a sleepy night
Jan. 14th, 2004 11:59 pmnet send * HEY!: "And NET VIEW showed me all the computers on the network. (I wish I'd used that command first the next day...)"
Why we study literature.
A Freelancer Tale: "The bankruptcy trustee in charge of the case, Robert Geltzer, has served summons to many freelance writers who collected fees from the magazine when it was in its death throes. The demand: If the fees are not returned, he is threatening to sue." --it's shite like this that makes me question my potential profession.
Neil Gaiman interviews Gene Wolfe: "I didn't want to write a book based on modern fantasy at all. I wanted to imagine the kind of fantasy world someone in the 11th century might have imagined." --guess I'll have to read more Gene Wolfe now.
Ho hum. Off to the second day of rehearsal, then out to dinner.
Um. Thought I'd actually hit the "Post" button. Whoops.
Anyway. Good rehearsal, pleasant dinner with Dave&Kayla, good conversation with Kayla afterwards, and then verbally unloaded to go along with my LJ unloading. And now I sleep.
