Whenever somebody tells you about "the five ancient talismans" or "the nine legendary crystals" or whatever, you can be quite confident that Saving the World will require you to go out and find every last one of them.

so. a slow week. friday we went to see Shenandoah Shakespeare Express do _Comedy of Errors_ at the Lyric. quite good. a fun play, and they did their standard good job with it. satyrday we watched (in order) Lost Boys, Labyrinth, Inside the Labyrinth, and Tron. and much fun was had.

trivia notes:
--Walter/Dumont from Tron was Grandpa from Lost Boys. "The one thing I never could stomach about Santa Carla..."
--it's well known that Bruce Boxleitner ("Tron") played Sheridan on Bab5. less well known is that Crom in Tron (the program that Flynn beats in the jai alai game) was played by Peter Jurasik, better known as Londo Mollari.
--Cheryl McFadden, the choreographer for Labyrinth, is the same person as Gates "Dr Crusher" McFadden.
god bless the IMDb.

and now it's snowing, and i have to decide whether to take my professor at her word and not go to class because she won't be able to get there, or believe the people coming into the office who claim that the blizzard is localised to bleaksburg.

walking to class, there was snow falling out of the sky, but not a whole heck of a lot. and it wasn't really sticking, except on the plaza over the Architecture Cave. and you could see sunshine off to the northwest, so clearly the show was in fact localised to bleaksburg.
there was in fact class, which surprised me, and most of the class was even there.
walking home the snow had stopped, the sun was shining, and i was thinking "what a lame blizzard. just like bleaksburg." so i cut through the Architecture Cave and came out and three minutes later it's all biting wind and dark clouds and snow snow snow. not that it'll stick, though. pathetic, really.
but i have ornage tea, so life is good.
i really ought to finish working up my amber cosmology so i can send info out to people today/tonight so they can be ready for game tomorrow.
