mostly when i feel a need to write it's after 10:30 and we've already gone to bed and i'm lying there and my brain is still running at a zillion miles an hour. when the puter moves out of my bedroom things will work better.

unfortunately i have no recollection of anything that i wanted to set down last night. it was all desperately important, though. i seem to recall thinking that i needed professional help.

whatever. it becomes more likely with every passing day that i'll need a new job soon, because CENSORED. plus i managed to gripe in the hearing of the company president yesterday.

it was such a nice job, too.

there are songs that evoke melancholy. some of these are obvious and some of them are just me being weird. eventually (maybe tonight) i'll put them all together in one place...

iris -- goo goo dolls
and so it goes -- billy joel
standing outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand -- primitive radio gods
just like heaven -- the cure
yesterday -- the beatles
leaves that are green -- simon and garfunkel
tryin' to throw your arms around the world -- u2
anna begins -- counting crows
29 -- gin blossoms
tomorrow, wendy -- concrete blonde
runaway train -- soul asylum
