There is a wonderful Talking Heads song called "Sax and Violins". It begins with the lines "Falling, falling..." and the chorus is "Love will keep us together, love will drive us insane."
This has no real relation to anything, except to note that I haven't listened to the soundtrack for Until the End of the World lately, and it's got that song plus some kick-ass cello work.
Off to court, to sue our ex-landlord and get our security deposit back. More on that later.

Success!

We got to court, and the slimy evil realtor guy gave us a check for the full amount. So we won, but we didn't get to call him a sleazeball in court.
Note to all who are renting: carry a tape recorder on your final walkthrough. If you can get the realtor to say "Yeah, this looks good to me" on tape they are obligated to give the full amount of your deposit back. And it's perfectly legal (in VA at least) to tape someone without their knowledge as long as the party doing the taping is involved in the conversation (ie, no wiretaps).
