[livejournal.com profile] uilos got mentioned in Steven Brust's weblog! (Though not by name, alas.)

Sales of the UBB have been brisk. We sold over 170 copies, but the remainder still fill up the back wall. I am so sick of that particular shade of blue. It's a good shade for wrapping paper, but not for a book, and certainly not for wallpaper. (As [livejournal.com profile] meiran pointed out, though, it's a better cover than any of the other editions, because it has less of the hideous cover art.) Maybe they'll be mostly gone by the time we get back from Origins.

Despite complaints about vagueness people have started guessing themselves, with around a 60% success rate. (And if you guess wrong, as a consolation prize you get to know where you are. :)

I had a thought on the colors of the book covers...the first one was red, the second orange, the third had a hint of yellow, the fourth was green, and the fifth was very blue. ROYGBIV. So it appears the next two book colors might be indigo and violet, respectively.

Of course, this is just a theory. I could be wrong.

(Also there's some argument over whether indigo is actually a color in the spectrum, but doubtless you know that.)

So just a conspiritorial publicity campaign, concocted between phycists and Southern US agricultrualists?

Bah. I just discovered the only way to get the man to do something is to get one of his co-authors to poke him. Good information for future reference.
