Yeah. 'Bout time.

He was excellent. He played about half of _Heathen_ (Cactus, Slip Away, I've Been Waiting For You, I Would Be Your Slave, 5.15 The Angels Have Gone, Everyone Says Hi, and Heathen (The Rays), and maybe Sunday), interspersed with various older songs. He opened with Life on Mars?, which was surprising and cool, and followed it with Ashes to Ashes ('Ashes to ashes / Flunk to flunkie / We know Major Tom's a junkie'). China Girl and Heroes also got played, as well as a *very* neat version of Let's Dance, and I think he played Fame as well (although I might have imagined it), and I'm Afraid of Americans (of course), and closed with Ziggy Stardust.
From a visual perspective Heathen (The Rays) was the best song he did. One by one the band packed up their instruments and walked off the stage as the song wound down, and one by one the lights went out, leaving only the keyboard player in the last spotlight by the end. Very classy.
Throughout he was clearly having fun, and joking with the audience ("Yes, I grew up here, in Manassas... and went to college right here, at Manassas University..."). When he introduced Cactus, he said "This is a cover of a song by the Pixies, a band none of you listen to." The audience responded with outrage. "Then why didn't any of you buy their records?"

Was it better than the _Earthling_ concert? The set list wasn't nearly as good, but then I think Earthling and 1.Outside are the best albums he's ever done, and they were pretty poorly represented. But in the end a concert is all about selling the new album. Also, it was only about an hour of Bowie. On the other hand, there was *way* less cigarette smoke, I got to see Blue Man Group and Moby in addition to Bowie, and I got to hang out with two gorgeous women instead of just one. Tough call.
