Feb. 13th, 2002 11:02 pmbah. this paper is crap. complete and utter crap. total crap. crap on a stick.
i was writing along quite happily when i suddenly realised that what i was writing was a report, not a paper. so i hurriedly slapped a thesis onto it, and hope that it will suffice.
jeez, i'm tired. and i have to get up in the morning and finish this thing, unless i finish it before i crash, in which case i have to get up later in the morning so i get enough sleep, and then proofread the thing if i can stand to reread it.

Date: 2002-02-16 08:59 am (UTC)A paper has a thesis. It makes a statement about those facts.
In my case, I was saying "This play is structured like a Greek tragedy, but the characters are completely opposite of those in Greek tragedy" and I wasn't going anywhere with it. (I think I wound up saying "...and that's because the playwright wanted to focus attention on the plight of the common man" or some such crap."
