Sam & Max Resurrected: "[I]ndie developer Telltale Games last night announced that it has acquired the rights to the careless crimefighters and will be creating all-new adventure games based on the exploits of the canine-lagomorph tandem." This news comes conveniently on the heels of my first reread of the comic book in years. Now I may have to try and install the game and replay it, just to hear Sam say "Wood things come in jars" and "One must admire the skill with which the wily Ubertrout stalks its prey." Not to mention the animal heads' limerick about John Muir.
Telltale Games appears to have been formed out of the ashes of LucasArts's adventure game department, so, here's hoping for good things. (They're also making games based on Jeff Smith's Bone; the first one, Out from Boneville, was released today. $20 to download. I may have to check this out.)
(And to balance out the elation,
silmaril provides the most painful website ever. "The horridity of the visual assault pales when you try to do navigation.")
