Gene-Altering Revolution Nears the Pet Store: Glow-in-the-Dark Fish: "The idea is to make fish that glow when they encounter certain pollutants, the marine equivalent of a canary in a coal mine. But on the way to creating such bio-sentinels, the Singapore scientists first created fish that glowed all the time."
Interview with Dr. [Travis] Doom: "Q: Have you ever actually done anything diabolical? A: Absolutely. I am, after all, a university professor."
Spent yesterday doing precious little, again. I'm liking this vacation. In fact, except for the feeling of impending DOOM hanging over my head (yay papers) I could get used to it. Nearly done with Eternal Darkness for the third-and-last time; I promised E I'd wait on the final battle until she was back so she could see the ending. Played Rez, which is a funky sort-of-music-based Dreamcast / PS2 shooter. Got through the boss on level 3 who'd been giving me a lot of trouble, and then breezed through level 4. So all I've got left is the fifth level, plus the unlocking of way cool stuff.
The maracas for Samba de Amigo were working fine for the party, but they seem to have died again since then. So, no maraca-shaking monkey goodness for me.
On the to-do-list front, bills are paid, some (but not all) Le Guin is read, ye bathroom is cleaned, and I've thought at least a little about all the papers. And now I eat.
