jazzfish: artist painting a bird, looking at an egg for reference (Clairvoyance)
so yeah. the Amber game went okay. not as good as i'd hoped, not nearly as bad as i'd feared. i realised at about four o'clock yesterday afternoon that while i had overarching plot all ready to go, i had nothing to pull them into the action. so fifteen minutes later i got pulled into a meeting with lizann and donna about a couple of chapters in the manual that need rewritten. got out of there just before six. so i wound up delaying the game by an hour or so while i tried to pull everyone together. it worked, more or less. and despite the occasional stumble from not having exercised my GMing muscles for over a year, it went well. there was the obligatory appearance by dead relatives, and much confusion.

question: why have i become the usability police? answer: because i have to write about how to use this crap, and if it's actually usable, my job becomes much, much easier.

How many bitter men does it take to change a light bulb?
